About the podcast:
When tackling migration and refugees, personal experiences are often left out of media coverage.
Men, but especially women, don’t really have the chance to represent themselves.
“Wave, massive arrival, flow, displacement”,
These are the terms used when the media covers refugees and migrants.
But, emotions, experiences, and struggles represent their diversity of experience and make up a part of the unusual and rewarding narratives of their journeys.
Today, our guests, migrant domestic workers in Lebanon, will share their stories and their struggles to overcome migration difficulties.
And as opposed to the image of victims, they show
their courage, their strength, and their pride.
They open up on their loneliness, and how they learned to unify with their communities. And to give power to their voices and discuss some neglected issues of their realities.
